WoW raid sign-ups and comp, without a spreadsheet.

A planner is a raid night’s announcement and its sign-ups: your players answer from the app or Discord, you build the composition group by group, and next week’s raid creates itself.

The composition board of a Hyjal Summit raid on Forever: “Auto-fill” takes your tank and healer targets, then places the available players.

How a raid planner works

  1. Create the planner

Name, instances, size, date and time. One-off or every week: a recurring planner creates the next one the following night.

  2. Players sign up

Present, Tentative, Bench or Absent, with their character and spec, from the app or the Discord channel. Sign-ups close at raid time.

  3. Build the composition

Drag players into groups, or let Auto-fill complete it from your tank, healer and DPS targets. Then publish it on Discord.

One-off or every week, in one dialog.

The create dialog sums up what will happen before you confirm: the raid created, its planner posted in your channel, and for a recurring raid, the next one created automatically every week.

  • Recurring raids, every week
  • Several instances in one raid
  • Sizes from 10 to 40 players, by instance
  • Drafts visible to officers only

Everyone sees what’s expected of them.

In the planner list, each member sees their status: in the roster, signed up, or not signed up yet. A raid without an answer stays flagged in red until they sign up.

  • Everyone’s status on every raid
  • Unanswered planners stand out
  • Overview of the next 7 days
  • Sign-ups close at raid time

Your players answer from Discord.

With the bot, the planner goes to your channel. One click on Present, pick the character, and the sign-up shows up in the raid, ready to be placed in the comp.

  • Planner posted in the chosen channel
  • Character picked or created on the spot
  • Remind non-signers, by members or roles

Why a raid planner instead of a spreadsheet?

Most raid teams run on a spreadsheet, a Discord thread and the raid leader’s memory. Answers get lost between messages, nobody knows who’s on the bench, and the comp is rebuilt from scratch every week.

In Vantus, each raid night has its planner: the raid announcement and its sign-up sheet on one screen. Players answer Present, Tentative, Bench or Absent with the character and spec they’ll bring, from the app or straight from your Discord channel. You see the answers by role, place players into groups of five, or let Auto-fill complete the comp from your tank and healer targets.

A recurring planner creates next week’s raid on its own, the night after the raid. Sign-ups close at raid time, a character already booked in the same instance during the same reset week is flagged, and every answer feeds the guild’s attendance stats. Nothing to copy, nothing to keep up to date.

Raid planner questions

Who can create a planner?

Officers and the Guild Master, based on the rights the Guild Master gives each rank. Members see visible planners and sign up.

What can a player answer?

Present, Tentative, Bench or Absent, with the character and spec they play. An “Other” planner (meeting, outing) can stick to Present or Absent, with no character.

How do recurring raids work?

Pick Every week when you create it. The night after the raid, the next one is created with the same details, and posted on Discord if a channel is set.

Which raid sizes are supported?

10, 20, 25, 30 and 40 players. When the instance sets its own size, the format follows; otherwise you choose, for example 10 or 25.

Which versions of WoW?

Retail, Classic, Classic Era, Classic Anniversary and Forever. Each guild belongs to one game: the instances, classes and specs on offer follow it.

Can I run several groups or splits?

Yes: the composition is laid out in groups of 5 players, and a raid can have up to 5 splits.

Can a player be booked twice in the same week?

Vantus flags it: Already booked shows when a character is already in the same instance during the same reset week.

Do I need the Discord bot?

No: without the bot, sign-ups happen in the app. The bot also lets you post the planner in a channel and answer it in one click.
